Cities and Memory (Stuart Fowkes)
Sound artist
[musician & sound artist]

Cities and Memory is one of the world’s largest sound projects, with a community of more than 2,000 contributing artists working together to remix the world, one sound at a time.
It is founded around the concept of working creatively with field recordings to explore concepts of place and memory - and to experience the world differently through sound.
Project founder Stuart Fowkes (Oxford, UK) will be performing reimagined compositions from the project as a live audiovisual performance of ambient electronica, based on field recordings as varied as the interior of the Sistine Chapel, the underwater calls of Arctic seals, New York City street soundscapes and a New Zealand dawn chorus.
